GAL AeroStaff Ltd. is an aerospace staffing company specializing in temporary and permanent staffing for general and technical positions in the aviation and aerospace industry.

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Lead to support day-to-day inspection activities within a Part 145 Repair Station setting.

The QC Lead will oversee inspection activities to ensure aircraft maintenance, repair, alteration, and modification work complies with FAA regulations, company procedures, and approved technical data. This position will also provide leadership to QC Inspectors and coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support safe and compliant aircraft releases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily activities of QC Inspectors

Ensure maintenance and alteration work is inspected in accordance with FAA Part 145 requirements and Repair Station procedures

Verify work is performed using approved technical data, including OEM manuals, SRMs, engineering orders, STCs, and applicable approvals

Ensure Required Inspection Items and critical task inspections are completed properly

Maintain compliance with airworthiness requirements prior to Return to Service

Assign inspection priorities based on production schedules and project milestones

Provide guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job support to QC personnel

Ensure inspection sign-offs and maintenance records are accurate and complete

Review task cards, logbook entries, FAA Form 8130-3 documentation, and release records for accuracy

Coordinate with engineering teams, DERs, and ODAs regarding technical approvals and certification requirements

Support certification activities including FAA Form 337, 8110-3 approvals, and conformity inspections

Identify and report nonconformities, quality escapes, and recurring quality concerns

Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities

Assist with internal audits and FAA audits as required





Participate in production meetings and provide QC status updates

Coordinate inspection coverage for critical operations and applicable shifts

Stop or reject work when safety, quality, or regulatory requirements are not met

Follow all company safety, quality, and regulatory procedures

Perform other duties as assigned

Competencies

Regulatory Knowledge – Understands FAA Part 145 requirements and aircraft inspection procedures

Attention to Detail – Ensures inspections and maintenance documentation are accurate and complete

Technical Knowledge – Interprets approved technical data, engineering drawings, and certification documentation

Problem Solving – Identifies discrepancies and supports effective corrective actions

Communication – Communicates effectively with production, engineering, quality, and regulatory personnel

Decision Making – Makes sound quality and compliance decisions under operational pressure

Teamwork – Works collaboratively across maintenance and support departments

Summary of Education, Experience and Certification
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license required

Minimum 5-7 years of aircraft maintenance experience required

Minimum 2-3 years of Quality Control or aircraft inspection experience required

Strong knowledge of FAA Part 145 regulations required

Experience with aircraft maintenance documentation and inspection procedures required

Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Aircraft completion or modification experience preferred

VIP interior, avionics, or structural modification experience preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities





Strong knowledge of aircraft quality control and inspection practices

Strong understanding of FAA Part 145 requirements

Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, structural repair manuals, engineering orders, drawings, and approved technical data

Experience with Required Inspection Items and critical task inspections

Ability to review maintenance records, task cards, logbook entries, and release documentation

Familiarity with FAA Form 337, FAA Form 8130-3, 8110-3 approvals, and conformity inspection processes

Experience coordinating with DERs, ODAs, and engineering personnel preferred

Familiarity with digital MRO systems such as CorrPlus or Traxxall preferred

Experience identifying nonconformities and supporting root cause and corrective action processes

Familiarity with AS9100 quality principles preferred

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced aircraft maintenance environment

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The employee will work in hangar, shop, office, and aircraft maintenance environments and may be exposed to aircraft systems, equipment, noise, and materials commonly associated with aviation maintenance.

The position may require prolonged periods of sitting and standing and occasional extended hours based on operational requirements.

The employee must regularly be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
