Class 1 Driver Specialist – North Valley Contracting Ltd.

Are you a Class 1 Driver who is tired of the "windshield view" all day? Do you prefer a job where the scenery changes, the work is physical, and you’re home every night for dinner?

We are a Septic, Excavation, and Landscaping company operating right here in the North Okanagan. We aren't looking for a "steering wheel holder"—we’re looking for a versatile team player who takes pride in seeing a project through from start to finish.

The Role: More Than Just a Driver In this position, trucking is your priority, but you won’t just be dropping off loads; you’ll be an integral part of our ground crew.

- Precision Driving: Expertly operate our fleet, including Tandem trucks, Truck & Pup configurations, and our Stone Slinger. You will also be responsible for operating a Truck and Tilt Deck to safely transport heavy equipment to and from job sites.
- Boots on the Ground: When the truck is parked, you’re jumping out to grab a rake or shovel. Whether it’s grading for a new lawn or prepping a septic field, you’re right there with the crew.
- Equipment Operation: If you have experience on an excavator or skid steer, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to put those skills to use.
- Year-Round Work: When the dirt stops moving in the winter, the snow starts falling. You’ll pivot to snow plowing to keep our community moving.

What You Bring to the Table
- A Valid Class 1 BC License: With a clean BC drivers abstract.
- A "Get-It-Done" Attitude:

- Physical Stamina: You enjoy manual labor and working outdoors in all Okanagan weather conditions.
- Mechanical Aptitude & Pride of Ownership: You take care of your equipment like it’s your own. This means staying on top of basic maintenance, daily inspections, and keeping your truck clean—inside and out. NVCL has a full-time shop foreman to insure smooth operation of all our equipment & vehicles.
- Local Focus: You live in the North Okanagan and value working close to home.
