Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Truck Driver and become a vital part of our operation! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating a hook lift truck delivering and picking up dumpster and also operating a Hino L7 or similar outfitted with a Hiab crane used for collection of Molok garbage containers of waste, recycling and organic material. You will cover various routes from Ottawa to Kitchener being dispatched daily from Cobourg, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Your expertise in driving combined with physical strength will help keep our supply chain moving smoothly. This paid position offers an exciting chance to showcase your driving skills while contributing to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate medium-duty trucks over short and long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure optimal performance and safety standards
- Load and unload waste containers with care, including medium heavy lifting when necessary, to prevent damage and ensure proper handling
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records for accountability and tracking purposes. These systems are electronic and used from your own phone.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse staff to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and schedule adjustments.



Communications are primarily via Whats app group chats
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper securing of loads and adherence to hours-of-service regulations
- Assist with general maintenance tasks on the truck as needed to ensure vehicle reliability

Experience

- Proven experience operating trucks or commercial vehicles in a professional setting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record required
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards applicable to commercial trucking
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight schedules and deadlines
- Physical stamina for long hours on the road and manual handling tasks
