Salary: $23.81 to $26.78 per hour
Wage Benefits
In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
5.6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.
In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
$3.25 per hour for weekends
$2.75 per hour for evenings
$5.00 per hour for nights

Do you enjoy winter outdoor work? Are you interested in supporting the trail snowmaking programs, which provide exceptional Nordic ski experiences to visitors and athletes within Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park?
The Canmore Nordic Centre (CNC)
is home to world class winter events and the Kananaskis Region of the Alberta Parks and is looking to fill seasonal Snowmaking Specialist positions for the winter season that runs from approximately early November 2026 to mid-January 2027.
These positions work mainly outdoors and include evening, night, and weekend shifts (with shift premium pay). All positions are contract terms.
Duties include, but are not limited to
Safe operation and maintenance of snowmaking fan guns and air/water guns, pumps, compressors, valves, hoses and tools.
Operate side-by-sides, snow machines, ATV’s, trucks, and mobile machinery.
Assist with trail packing, grooming, and track setting.
General labour or other duties.
To be successful in this role, you will need to
Ensure there is adherence to all pertinent policies, procedures, and protocols, including Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S;) and following Government of Alberta guidelines.
Have a mechanical aptitude and equipment operating experience including the ability to troubleshoot equipment and the ability to work outdoors in the winter for long periods of time.
Ability to support and work with other team members within the Kananaskis Region and at Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park.
Use good judgment and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Respond to public inquiries and address any safety concerns.
Interact with the public in a qualified manner and create a positive visitor experience.
Be able to lift 25 kilograms.
If needed, lead and participate in emergency and evacuation protocols to provide support to visitors and staff in emergency situations.

You will be responsible to meet timelines and objectives for snow production delivery programs.

You will work with Snowmaking, Grooming and Event Teams, Shop Supervisor, your direct Supervisor and Management team to meet program outcomes.
Creative Problem-Solving
You will use your skills to effectively manage assignments with regards to snowmaking routes and address equipment mechanical or functional challenges.
Qualifications
Some high school education.
Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent and clear 3-year Driver's Abstract.
Seasonal contracts from November 2026 to January 2027, dependent on winter seasonal weather and operating conditions.
Shift schedules are built into a 24/7 operations; these positions may require you to work evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout the duration of the winter as required.
Hours of employment are up to 40 hours per week, either 8- or 10-hour shifts.
You must have access to reliable transportation to and from work.
Training will be provided to successful candidates.
Those selected for an interview will need to supply three work related references.
Any initial costs associated with obtaining required documents/checks as noted will be the responsibility of the candidate. However, some reimbursements may occur. Interview travel expenses will not be reimbursed. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.
