Take on the role of Cook I at Pacific Community Resources Society, where your culinary skills will help nourish youth residents in Surrey. Engage in meal prep and kitchen management.
As a Cook I at PCRS, you will assist in providing daily nutritious meals within The 1.1.2. transitional housing program for young adults. Working closely with the lead Cook, your main tasks will include preparing meals, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with health standards. You will also oversee a safe and supportive kitchen environment for staff and residents, fostering culinary education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cook and serve nutritious meals focused on diversity
• Manage kitchen inventory and documentation
• Enforce health authority standards and safety practices
• Train and orient kitchen volunteers on procedures
• Collaborate on food sustainability efforts with partners
Requirements:
• 2 years of relevant cooking experience required
• Preferred experience in commercial kitchen management
• Background in training culinary skills to groups
• Familiarity with cultural inclusivity in food
• Robust verbal and written communication skills
