Become an Indigenous Doula in Victoria, working with Arrow Home to provide essential support for mothers during their postpartum period. Your cultural knowledge and lived experience will help nurture families during this transition.
In this part-time, temporary role, you will focus on assisting Indigenous families who require additional support. You’ll use your skills to provide nonjudgmental guidance in a home setting, including assistance with newborn care and family adjustments. This opportunity allows you to share ancestral wisdom and contemporary practices in a supportive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver compassionate and culturally safe support
• Support mothers in newborn care and family dynamics
• Conduct educational sessions tailored to Indigenous practices
• Facilitate group discussions on child development
• Engage in staff training and cultural workshops
Requirements:
• Indigenous ancestry/identity is required for this role
• Doula certification along with BC association membership
• Relevant training in counseling or trauma support
• Proficiency in basic computer applications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Empower Indigenous mothers by providing them with the support they need through culturally informed doula practices.
