Course Description: Examination of instructional and assessment strategies, models of inquiry and critical thinking, and approaches to curriculum integration relevant to the junior division (grade 4 to grade 6); special focus on Social Studies and Physical and Health Education Ontario Curriculum and other pedagogical resources.
HYBRID COURSE In Teacher Education, Hybrid means that all courses include ten in-person sessions offered on campus at the University of Ottawa (30 in-person instructional hours) and two online course modules, delivered through Brightspace, which provide the equivalent of 6 instructional hours.

Requirements Masters degree in education required; PhD degree in Education will be given preference.
Qualification to teach in Ontario schools (OCT certification)



at the Intermediate/Senior levels and/or research-based work focused on adolescence and schooling.
Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Intermediate-Senior level.
Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers.
The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those set out above.
