FortWhyte Alive is hiring a passionate Forest School Practitioner to guide children aged 2-12 in outdoor learning adventures. This role emphasizes play-based and inquiry-driven learning across all weather conditions.
As a Forest School Practitioner, you will oversee children's activities and ensure a safe, engaging workplace. Your responsibilities include collaborating with educators to plan child-centered programs infused with Indigenous teachings. You will also support volunteers in fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct site safety assessments and document issues
• Collaborate with team members on immersive activities
• Provide ongoing training for volunteer support
• Promote emotional expression and positive development
• Track and share documentation of participant experiences
Requirements:
• Forest School Practitioner Certificate or equivalent necessary
• Minimum of 1 year outdoor education experience
• Successful candidacy in Police and Child Abuse checks
• Capability to work under diverse conditions
• Knowledge of child-led learning methods
