As we aim to accelerate growth in Canada, we are actively seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to support our growth at our new Halifax, NS location.
About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven Warehouse Team Leader to oversee daily operations within a fast-paced 3PL distribution environment. The ideal candidate brings prior experience working at Amazon, with a strong understanding of high-performance warehouse standards, lean processes, and productivity metrics.
As a frontline leader, you will supervise associates, drive operational excellence, and ensure safety, quality, and service targets are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Team Leadership
Supervise and lead a team of warehouse associates (e.g., picking, packing, shipping, receiving)
Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet productivity and service level agreements (SLAs)
Drive performance through coaching, feedback, and accountability
Lead daily shift huddles and communicate key operational updates
Performance & Productivity Management
Track and manage KPIs such as:
Units per hour (UPH)
Order accuracy
On-time shipping
Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Amazon-style best practices
Identify bottlenecks and optimize processes to improve throughput
Health & Safety Compliance
Enforce compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
Promote a strong safety culture on the warehouse floor
Conduct safety audits, incident reporting, and corrective actions
Ensure proper use of equipment and PPE
Employee Engagement & Relations
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team environment
Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts promptly
Support attendance management and progressive discipline in line with company policy and Ontario regulations
Recognize and reward strong performance
Training & Development
Train new hires on warehouse processes, systems, and safety standards
Cross-train associates to ensure operational flexibility
Mentor team members for career growth and advancement
Warehouse Systems & Technology
Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, and reporting tools
Leverage experience with Amazon systems/processes (e.g., rate tracking, workflows, standard work)
Ensure accurate inventory handling and system updates
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma required; post-secondary education is an asset
Mandatory: Previous experience working at Amazon (warehouse or fulfillment center)
2–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or distribution
1–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of high-volume, fast-paced warehouse environments
Proven ability to manage productivity metrics and KPIs
Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement
Knowledge of Ontario health & safety regulations
Experience with WMS systems and RF technology
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Working Conditions
On-site role within a warehouse environment
