The Abbotsford School District seeks a Youth Care Worker to provide crucial support for students' emotional and social development. This casual position involves interaction with at-risk youths both in school and community.
As a Youth Care Worker, you will work under the Principal’s guidance to provide tailored support for students requiring behavioral intervention. Your responsibilities will include planning and executing development activities while collaborating with counselors and teachers for effective student assistance. Your expertise in crisis management and behavioral strategies will be key to fostering a supportive learning setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Respond to emergencies and manage interventions effectively
• Collaborate on student assessments and strategy development
• Support the emotional and social skills of students
• Track intervention progress for continuous improvement
Requirements:
• Grade 12 diploma and 2-year Social Services diploma
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with at-risk youth
• Current CPI certification and valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Proven problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
