Project Manager

Overview
Scott Builders Inc. is seeking a highly focused, organized, and motivated Project Manager to lead commercial and light industrial construction projects from start-up through closeout. This role is suited for an experienced construction professional who can manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, client communication, and trade coordination while supporting successful project delivery.

In this role, you will be responsible and accountable for all aspects of the construction process on assigned projects. Working closely with the Site Superintendent and project team, you will support the development and execution of project scope, budgets, plans, and schedules to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. You will ensure projects are constructed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, building codes, and company standards, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, client satisfaction, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Manage assigned commercial and light industrial construction projects from start-up through closeout, including scope,
schedule, budget, quality, and overall project performance
- Work closely with Site Superintendents, project teams, clients, consultants, trades, and vendors to support efficient and timely project delivery
- Develop, review, and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, documentation, and construction processes
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, building codes, safety requirements, and quality standards
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or constructability concerns, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement practical solutions
- Lead and motivate project teams through effective communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, and hands-on leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trades, employees, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Promote and support safe work practices while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, drawings, blueprints, specifications, schedules, budgets, and project management practices
- Proven ability to manage the full design and construction process from project start-up through closeout
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide project teams using a hands-on approach
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to promote safe work practices while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budget requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and resolve constructability issues
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore construction project management software, and related tools
- Valid provincial driver’s license with the ability to travel to project sites as required
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in commercial or industrial construction
- Experience managing mid-size to large construction projects with varying levels of complexity
- Direct experience in sectors such as power generation, low-rise mixed-use, recreational, assisted living, commercial, or light industrial construction is considered an asset
- Gold Seal Certification is preferred
- PMP certification is considered an asset
- Candidates who submit project lists and client references demonstrating relevant experience will be given preference
Full-time
Work Conditions
- Combination of office-based responsibilities and active construction site involvement
- Regular attendance at site meetings and coordination with field teams
- Work in varying site and weather conditions
- Occasional travel to project sites as required
- Flexibility to work overtime to meet project schedules, client needs, and operational requirements
