Join YMCA BC as a Community-Based Employment Coach and support Indigenous youth through tailored employment readiness programs at the Aboriginal Training and Employment Centre in Kamloops, BC. Your role will emphasize creating accessible pathways for neurodiverse individuals facing barriers.
This full time position requires you to facilitate workshops, provide individualized support, and build robust connections with community and business partners. As an Employment Coach, your efforts will help bridge the gap between education and employment for participants aged 19 and older, ultimately fostering confidence and self-advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strengthen ties with local Indigenous communities
• Engage with employers to enhance inclusive hiring practices
• Guide participants in job searching and career development
• Facilitate workshops on life and employability skills
• Compile and analyze participant activity data
Requirements:
• Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or relevant experience
• Proven experience working with disadvantaged youth
• Strong organizational and facilitation abilities
• Competency in Microsoft Office and job placement tools
• Valid First Aid/CPR-C Certification needed
