Director of Operations, Montessori Training Centre of British Columbia (MTCBC)
Established in 1982, the Montessori Training Centre of British Columbia (MTCBC) has proudly provided Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Teacher Training and Career development to domestic and international students pursuing AMI Montessori teaching certification.
As one of only two AMI training centres in Canada, MTCBC is a registered Canadian not-for-profit charitable organization committed to advancing Montessori education through high-quality teacher preparation, professional development, and community engagement.
The Opportunity
MTCBC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Operations . Reporting directly to the MTCBC Board of Directors, the Director of Operations will provide executive leadership and oversight of the MTCBC, supported by a dedicated team of administrative personnel who carry out the Centre’s day-to-day administrative functions. The Director will provide direction, coordination, and accountability to the administrative team while focusing on the Centre’s strategic priorities, organizational development, and overall operations.

The Director of Operations provides senior-level leadership to an established and respected Montessori teacher education organization and helps shape its continued growth and development.
Education
University degree preferred
Possesses a deep understanding of Montessori principles and philosophy
Work Experience
Three or more years of experience as a Montessori teacher preferred
Business, school, or non-profit administration experience preferred
Demonstrated leadership and management experience essential
Working Conditions
Based in the Greater Vancouver Area, with a hybrid work arrangement and regular on-site presence in collaboration with MTCBC staff.
Approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate special events and key operational periods throughout the year.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to transition into the role alongside the current Director of Operations, who will provide administrative support, guidance, and consultation during the transition period.
