Located in the Department of Civil Engineering, this role focuses on advanced research in seismic loads on high-rise buildings. You will utilize Python and Open Sees Py to create complex models, analyze data, and publish technical findings that enhance engineering practices in Canada and the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct seismic response analyses of high-rise buildings
Create and validate advanced computer models
Research and interpret seismic design provisions
Write documentation for research methodologies and results
Oversee and guide emerging engineering talents
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science
At least five years of relevant experience in structural engineering
In-depth knowledge of performance-based seismic design
Experience with structural analysis software
Commitment to promoting inclusive practices in research
Contribute to a cutting-edge engineering setting at UBC and support cutting-edge building designs.
