Join the Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness (ACEH) as a Housing Transitions Support Worker in Victoria, BC. Make a meaningful difference by providing culturally supportive assistance to Indigenous individuals transitioning to market housing.
This temporary full time role requires you to help Family Members develop essential life skills and facilitate their transition into independent housing. You'll create personal goal plans and coordinate various resources and support services to ensure long-term success. By building trusting relationships, you'll play a pivotal role in empowering these individuals through their journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalized, one-on-one support to Family Members
Coordinate housing transitions and logistics
Facilitate life skills training,



such as budgeting and cooking
Advocate and accompany Family Members to significant appointments
Connect individuals to necessary wellness and community resources
Requirements:
At least one year of experience in related social services
Familiarity with Indigenous communities and cultural sensitivity
Preferred: Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License
Clearance through the Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Review Program
