As part of Skills for Change, you will serve as a Clinical Counsellor under the Senior Manager of Newcomer Services. This dynamic role involves providing mental health counselling to a diverse clientele, focusing on trauma-informed care and culturally sensitive practices. A commitment to anti-violence and systemic change is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct client wellness checks and safety planning
• Provide crisis intervention and psychoeducation
• Collaborate with caseworkers for integrated care
• Organize workshops addressing mental health issues
• Document client progress and maintain confidentiality
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is essential
• Minimum two years' experience in mental health support
• Certification with CCPA or relevant regulatory body
• Experience with racialized and immigrant populations
• Transparent vulnerable sector check mandatory
