East Kensington Elementary is seeking a K/1 Outdoor Education Teacher in Surrey to advance outdoor learning initiatives. Foster a love for nature while supporting comprehensive academic growth.
In this role, you will provide an engaging educational workplace through inquiry-based outdoor experiences designed for young learners. Your instructional approach will embrace exploration and environmental stewardship, allowing students to connect with their surroundings. Collaborating with fellow educators will be crucial in delivering a rich and diverse curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive curriculum using outdoor methodologies
• Engage students in hands-on learning experiences
• Promote advocacy for environmental awareness
• Collaborate with teachers and community organizations
• Foster social-emotional development through outdoor play
Requirements:
• Bachelor of education degree in Elementary
• Valid B.C. Teacher's Certificate
• Minimum two years of classroom experience
• Completed courses in Environmental Education
• Commitment to experiential learning practices
