Chetwynd Secondary School is looking for a Counsellor to support students' academic and emotional well-being starting September 1, 2026. This role combines counselling with career guidance, requiring a Master's Degree in Counselling.
The successful candidate will actively participate in the School Based Team, supporting students in career exploration and course planning. You will work closely with parents, guiding them through the selection of programs and services. Your collaboration with the Learning Services Team will help build initiatives that promote both health and career awareness in the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students with academic and career planning
• Develop programs in collaboration with the School Based Team
• Facilitate discussions with parents regarding course selections
• Promote health awareness initiatives within the school
• Create individualized education plans for diverse learners
Requirements:
• Hold a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
• Willingness to complete a Master's Degree in Counselling
• K-12 teacher training and practicum experience
• Skilled in classroom management
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
