As a Network Operations Engineer, you will make an impact by performing advanced troubleshooting and incident ownership. You will be a valued member of the team and work collaboratively with your Manager, Peers and Stakeholders.

Responsibilities
The Network Operations Engineer (L2) is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, incident ownership, service restoration, and operational support across retail stores, distribution centers, corporate offices, cloud platforms, and enterprise network services. The role serves as the primary troubleshooting and restoration tier within the Network Operations organization.
Key Responsibilities
Incident Management & Service Restoration
Lead troubleshooting of complex network incidents.
Diagnose and restore services across LAN, WAN, Wireless, SD-WAN, Cloud, Security and ISP domains.
Own incidents from investigation through restoration and closure.
Participate in Major Incident response activities.
Coordinate vendors, carriers, ISPs and service providers.
Retail Network Operations
Support retail store network infrastructure and connectivity.
Support WAN circuits, ISP services, wireless and SD-WAN environments.
Support New Store Openings (NSO) and store migrations.
Coordinate Smart Hands and Field Services activities.
Problem Management
Participate in Root Cause Analysis activities.
Identify recurring incidents and operational trends.
Recommend runbook and process improvements.
Change & Maintenance
Execute approved network changes.
Support upgrades, patching and maintenance windows.
Validate implementation success and rollback readiness.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Network Operations or Enterprise Network Support experience
Experience supporting retail, distribution center and corporate environments
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills
Experience supporting geographically distributed enterprise environments
Technical Skills
Cisco Routing & Switching, Cisco Meraki, SD-WAN, Palo Alto Firewalls, Zscaler, Infoblox, Azure Networking, AWS Networking, SolarWinds, Datadog, Splunk, ServiceNow, Wireshark, ISP/Carrier troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
CCNA or CCNP Enterprise
ITIL Foundation
Azure or AWS networking experience
Python or PowerShell exposure
Juniper and Fortinet experience considered an asset
What Success Looks Like
Owns and restores complex network incidents.
Reduces MTTR and repetitive incidents.
Delivers high-quality support across Retail, DC, SSC and Cloud environments.
Effectively manages vendor and ISP escalations.
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $77,000 to $91,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as advantages that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
