Operate and maintain the Small Hydro facility in Revelstoke, BC as a Facility Operator for TransAlta. This full-time position emphasizes safety, compliance, and efficiency in operations.
You will work closely with the Hydro Renewables team and the Manager of Asset Hydro, ensuring the secure and reliable functioning of hydroelectric operations. Your responsibilities will include coordinating maintenance, supervising contractors, and ensuring adherence to environmental and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee compliance with operational safety models
• Plan and execute maintenance of hydro facilities
• Optimize production while minimizing outages
• Conduct regular inspections and reporting on dam safety
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
• Journeyman Electrical/Millwright Ticket required
• 3-5 years of hands-on hydro experience
• Familiarity with hydro conveyance and power generation compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft and SAP applications
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
