This position, under the District Principal, Secure & Caring Schools, emphasizes therapeutic counselling for children and families. The role includes outreach initiatives, ensuring children aged 0-18 receive necessary support while managing and mentoring Youth Peer Support Workers to enhance service delivery and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver counselling services and monitor youth progress
• Lead recruitment and training of youth support staff
• Conduct employee evaluations and address attendance issues
• Represent youth needs between schools and external agencies
• Organize workshops and training for families and community partners
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in relevant counselling fields
• Must be a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC
• 3-5 years’ experience in youth counselling settings
• Background in mental health and substance use initiatives
• Experience liaising with community organizations
