Your opportunity: Communications & Public Affairs develops communication plans and strategies to support the strategic goals of the Faculty of Arts & Science. Amazing things happen here every day and we love to tell the stories about the strengths and achievements of our community. We promote the Faculty’s reputation and support internal communications via internal andexternal media. Our areas of focus include news and media relations, marketing and design, digital content management and communications planning and output that responds to the needs of our diverse audiences including students, faculty, staff, alumni and donors. Communications leadership and support is also provided for initiatives arising out of the various administrative units within the Dean’s Office.
Reporting to the Director, Student Communications, the Associate Director, Web & Digital Communications is a key member of the Faculty Communications and Public Affairs office in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Working closely with the Director, the incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive and targeted marketing and communication strategies for Faculty of Arts and Science current and future students.
Your responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing integrated communication plans to support the faculty's strategic objectives and high-profile University initiatives.
Developing marketing/communications strategies for academic programs, resources and opportunities to support the success of A&S; undergraduate students.




Advising onstrategies to communicate across multiple channels
Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)
Overseeing production operations related to communication activities
Analyzing complex statistical reports on performance indicators to support decision making
Overseeing the production of promotional and marketing materials
Drafting and editing content for print and/or online communications channels
Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Communications, Journalism, English, and/or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Minimum five years recent and related experience in communications and marketing in higher education.
Experience writing and drafting marketing and communications plans and materials, digital, social, online and print, in a busy, fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
Demonstrated experience with project planning and management, design, development and production, coordination of online, social and print marketing materials.
Experience with researching target markets and related data collection and analysis, preparation and presentation of reports and recommendations for inclusion in strategic documents.
Experience working in a highly complex organization with multi-stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience supervising staff preferably in a unionized workplace.
Strong project management skills and experience applicable to print, web, social media and video production.
Excellent presentation skills with experience in training and presenting to a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint).
Advanced design software skills and experience working with Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, BeeFree or other equivalent software.
Advanced skills designing web using Wordpress, Drupal, CSS, and HTML. Advanced skills in various social media platforms, such as Instagram.
Advanced skills in email marketing, including content development and deployment. Working Knowledge of SLATE or equivalent systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills required.
