Empower students with visual disabilities as an Alternate Format Production Technician at the Vancouver School Board's Provincial Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired. This role emphasizes creating accessible STEM learning materials.
In this full time in-person position based in Vancouver, you will be instrumental in producing educational content that aligns with the needs of visually impaired students. Work collaboratively to develop training resources and engage in content proofreading to ensure quality. Your role is crucial in providing equitable access to education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Scan and mark up hard copy materials for digital production
• Create STEM resources in digital formats
• Collaborate on webinars and training sessions
• Proofread electronic and alternate format materials
• Produce 3D models to complement digital content
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education and 2 years in a relevant field
• Four years of experience in a related environment
• Skilled in OCR technology and coding (Python)
• Familiar with accessibility standards and workflows
• Must manage lifting materials of at least 10 kg
