Drive sustainable development in Edmonton as an Open Space Planner for the City of Edmonton. This temporary full time role focuses on ecological systems and community planning.
The City of Edmonton’s Open Space Strategy team is seeking an adaptable planner. This role combines land use and ecological planning to enhance the open space network. Your work will include developing comprehensive strategies and supporting community engagement, all while preserving the ecological integrity of urban spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement open space planning standards
• Conduct evidence-based analyses and policy recommendations
• Produce technical maps and visualization tools
• Engage with public stakeholders and prepare presentations
• Collaborate with city departments on development reviews
Requirements:
• Relevant bachelor’s degree in planning or ecology
• Minimum two years of related experience in planning
• Proficient with GIS and spatial data management
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Understanding of urban ecology and environmental assessments
