Advance your career in public policy as a Title & Rights Researcher for the k̓wezúsmin̓ Title & Rights department. This full time role centers on research related to Aboriginal rights and land use planning.
As the Title & Rights Researcher, reporting to the Project & Culture Manager, you will conduct vital research to inform the Lil'wat Nation's governance and advocacy efforts. The position requires collaboration across departments, ensuring that research is well-organized and leads to actionable outputs for leadership. This role is suited for individuals who understand Indigenous rights and have a keen analytical mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct analyses of Aboriginal rights and title issues
• Prepare referral summaries and identify potential impacts
• Develop research briefs and reports for leadership
• Collaborate with GIS and Cultural Research teams
• Support land use planning initiatives
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Indigenous Studies or similar
• Minimum 3-5 years in policy analysis or research
• Knowledge of Aboriginal rights in British Columbia
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Class 5 Driver's License and clean record
