Collateral Partners is a strategic communications platform built by finance professionals, investors, and operators. We work with investment firms, asset managers, and financial platforms on the moments that matter most - raising capital, executing transactions, scaling platforms, and building market confidence.
We're hiring a VP of Communications to lead client programs across private equity, private credit, real estate, and asset management.
The role
This is a senior seat for someone who still likes doing the work. You'll be the lead communications counsel on your accounts, advising principals on positioning and reputation, and also writing the piece, making the call to the reporter, and holding the deadline.
You'll own:
- Media strategy and earned media programs, including the reporter relationships behind them
- Positioning, messaging, and corporate narrative for each client
- Executive visibility - thought leadership, contributed commentary, owned channels
- Communications around consequential moments: capital raises, fund launches, M&A;, leadership transitions, and crises
- Direction of specialist teams on design, video, investor materials, and transaction work
What we're looking for
- 6+ years in PR, financial communications, corporate communications,
or investor relations, ideally in financial services
- Agency or in-house experience with financial clients
- Genuine finance fluency. You can read a fund presentation or investment memo and find the story, the proof points, and the weak spots without a translator
- Live press relationships across financial and trade media
- Experience advising senior principals directly
- A senior writing standard - this is a hands-on role, you will be producing the work.
- Discretion. This work touches active capital raises, M&A; processes, and confidential firm strategy
Nice to have: crisis and reputation defense experience, standing relationships with reporters covering alternative investments, conference and panel placement, a public voice of your own.
Why this seat
You'll advise principals and produce the work, without layers of account service between you and the client. We invest heavily in tooling and specialist support - what you won't have is a bench of juniors to hand drafts down to. That suits some senior communicators very well and others not at all, and it's worth knowing which you are before you apply.
Competitive base plus performance bonus. Remote.
