Join Kelowna Women’s Shelter as a Frontline Support Worker dedicated to supporting domestic abuse victims. This role offers advocacy, crisis intervention, and temporary housing assistance.
As a vital team member, you'll provide necessary support and resources to women and children in crisis. Duties include crisis management, conflict resolution, and liaising with external agencies. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handle incoming calls and assess crisis situations
• Welcome new clients and create safety plans
• Ensure a secure environment through monitoring
• Arrange transportation services for clients
• Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements:
• Diploma in human/social services or equal experience
• Recent related work experience preferred
• Certification in Intermediate First Aid
• Must provide a suitable Criminal Records Check
• Union membership required
