UBC is seeking a Research Assistant/Technician 4 to join the Gupta laboratory, focusing on ocular and neurodegenerative diseases. This role involves applying advanced research techniques in a team-oriented environment.

The Research Assistant will conduct critical experiments involving various methodologies, including cell cultures and PCR. Under the supervision of Dr. Neeru Gupta, you will contribute to important research aimed at uncovering potential therapies for eye diseases. Strong analytical skills and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and execute experiments with complex procedures
• Perform molecular techniques including cloning and gel electrophoresis
• Manage in vivo animal care and experimental protocols




• Use microscopy for analyzing research samples
• Support lab operations through supply management

Requirements:
• Degree in a related discipline or technical program
• At least four years of relevant research experience
• Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
• Demonstrated commitment to collaborative work
• Understanding of diversity and equity in research
