Become a vital part of Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board as a Temporary Social Worker, focusing on Safe Schools and Care and Treatment Education Programs. This position emphasizes student support, advocacy, and mental health intervention strategies in educational contexts.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker will work closely with students, staff, and community agencies. Your role includes assessing mental and emotional health needs, implementing mental health programs, and guiding students through crises. The effective delivery of trauma-informed support is essential, as is maintaining strong connections with local Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and address socio-emotional and mental health challenges
•Implement tailored evidence-informed mental health strategies
• Provide trauma support and staff debriefing after incidents
• Oversee transitions and follow-up for external care students
• Foster relationships with stakeholders for resource access
Requirements:
• Obtained Bachelor of Social Work and registered in Ontario
• At least 1 year of professional social work experience
• In-depth understanding of Indigenous cultures and communities
• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques
• Strong analytical skills for case management and documentation
