Purpose
The Project Coordinator, Advancement supports the Director with the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of projects and programs led and supported by the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement. The role, in collaboration with Central Advancement and various internal and external partners, supports the development, implementation, and improvement of new and existing programs that position Schulich as a leader in achieving fundraising goals and is responsible for the design, planning and implementation of multiple programs, including communicating with external donors, sponsors, and partners to develop and enhance donor relationships.

Education
University degree or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience
Two (2) years of related experience in fundraising. Experience in developing, planning, and coordinating fundraising campaigns, including annual funds and special events. Experience in cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, sponsors,



and alumni, including direct solicitation and stewardship.

Skills

Effective communication, including the ability to obtain and provide information in a clear and concise manner, and the ability to produce written information targeted to a variety of audiences.

Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal courteously, tactfully, and effectively with external partners, students, faculty, and staff, and maintain confidentiality.

Ability to apply cross-cultural knowledge and collaborate effectively, respectfully, and sensitively with people across cultures in a business environment.

Effective analytical skills, including the ability to collect and analyze data and prepare written reports for various audiences, in a variety of formats.

Effective attention to detail, including accurate proofreading and cross-referencing skills.

Effective organizational and time management skills, including the ability to coordinate competing processes and functions independently to meet deadlines.

Ability to exercise good judgment and flexibility in an environment of continuous change and process improvement.

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in an workplace of high volume and competing priorities.

Ability to adapt to new and emerging technologies.

Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.





Ability to maintain a relational database.

Ability to use event and project management software, and online/web-based content management systems such as Wordpress.

Other

Knowledge and understanding of fundraising, the fundraising cycle and donor-centric fundraising.

Knowledge of public relations and/or marketing principles and techniques.
