BHSSA is looking to add a Volunteer Board Member. This is position requires the successful candidate to attend virtually through zoom once a month. Seeking applicants that reside in the following locations; Peace River region, Grande Prairie, Slave Lake or Fort McMurray.

Responsibilities:

- Attend regular board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with other board members to establish and review organizational goals, policies, and programs.
- Provide guidance and support to the organization's staff and volunteers.
- Assist in fundraising efforts by leveraging personal networks, and participating in fundraising events.
- Help recruit and onboard new board members, ensuring a diverse and skilled board composition.
- Act as an ambassador for the organization, representing its mission and values to external stakeholders.

Experience:

- Previous experience serving on a nonprofit board or similar governing body is preferred.




- Familiarity with the organization's mission, goals, programs, and services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and contribute to long-term planning.
- Demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission and values.
