Become Humboldt’s Deputy Fire Chief, a full time role focused on emergency response and fire prevention leadership within the city’s fire service. Elevate community safety initiatives and departmental management.

In this significant role with the Department of Protective Services, you will manage both administrative and operational functions. Your responsibilities will include regulatory compliance, budgeting, and public education in fire safety. Collaborating with various departments and regional partners will be essential for effective emergency preparedness and community risk reduction.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead emergency response and fire department management
• Develop and implement fire prevention programs
• Conduct inspections and oversee emergency coordination




• Manage departmental budgeting and scheduling tasks
• Engage with regional partners for risk reduction initiatives

Requirements:
• Current Fire Department membership required
• Preferred qualifications: Level II Fire Certification, Level I Instructor Certification
• Supervisory experience in fire service preferred (5 years)
• In-depth knowledge of firefighting practices and operations
• Criminal Record Check must be satisfactory
