Tackaberry Construction is a local, family run civil contractor, serving eastern Ontario since 1957, with three locations, over 50 pits and quarries and an asphalt plant in Eastern Ontario. Our team has an immediate opening for a permanent, full time, Estimator/Site Foreperson . Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, with strong civil construction estimating experience. A great attitude and strong communication skills are a must.
Valid driver’s license, a clean driver’s abstract, and the ability to clear a background check for institutional work are required.

THE ROLE
The Estimator/Site Foreperson meets with clients, subcontractors and internal team members to prepare cost estimates for residential, commercial and municipal projects. In this position you will manage multiple projects simultaneously and lead small crews.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage with clients to actively pursue project opportunities
Support our regional retail & rental market providing aggregate material placing & equipment rental options (rates)
Interpret construction drawings, specifications & grade expectations in carrying out site work
Lead small crews (2-4 people) through active participation and supervision of project types
Manage multiple (2-3) projects simultaneously
Maintain accurate documentation of site activities including keeping of daily journal and safety logs
Submit weekly project schedules to assist with company scheduling
Adhere to company safety policy
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets and material take offs for civil related projects
Assist in executing fieldwork as required (construction -grade foreman, temporary operator)
