Join Dawson Civil as an Equipment Operator in Princeton, BC, focusing on ensuring safety and efficiency in critical infrastructure projects. Your role will be vital in operating heavy equipment such as excavators and graders.
This full time temporary position reports to the General Superintendent, Civil, and will require you to skillfully manage construction tasks while adhering to safety regulations. With a 14/7 work schedule, you will be responsible for operating various machinery to support the building and maintenance of roads and utilities, promoting safety-first principles in your operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Efficiently operate heavy machinery to meet company production objectives
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and conduct safety checks
• Read and comprehend survey stakes for project alignment
• Attend and contribute to safety meetings and inspections
• Complete daily hazard assessments and maintenance checklists
Requirements:
• At least three years of experience operating a GPS excavator or similar machinery
• Minimum two years in road construction or mining is preferred
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required
• Basic knowledge of road construction materials is beneficial
• Ground Disturbance certification preferred
