ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Workplace, Health & Safety (EHS) Auditor (Casual) to support client projects in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you’ll apply your expertise across diverse industries and regulatory environments, partnering with organizations to improve operational performance, reduce risk, and advance sustainable business practices. This is a casual employment contract Work will be offered on an as‑needed basis, and assignments and hours will vary based on business and client demand and are not guaranteed.

What You’ll Bring Required
Bachelor’s degree in environmental, sustainability, health & safety science, engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
4+ years of EHS experience in consulting or industry, ideally with exposure in Canada and internationally.
Proven ability to assess EHS management systems across high‑hazard sectors (mining, oil & gas, petrochemicals, pulp & paper, power generation).
Strong understanding of Canadian EHS regulatory requirements.
Agile communication skills, able to engage senior leaders and frontline teams alike.
Prior project management experience with the ability to manage complex projects independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to travel on multi‑day audits.
Driver’s License Required: This position requires a valid driver’s license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

5+ years of EHS experience with global exposure.
Lead auditor trained in ISO‑based standards (ISO 19011, 14001, 45001).
Professional certifications such as EP (EMS LA), EP (CEA), CSRP, P.Eng., or similar.
Familiarity with data analytics and digital solutions for EHS systems.
Bilingual in French/English.
Key Responsibilities Lead audits for EHS compliance, management systems, and sustainability frameworks, individually or as part of a team.
Develop strategies, processes, and tools to strengthen client EHS programs.
Support ERM’s Safe and Sustainable Operations team in meeting international mining standards (ICMM, CopperMark, Cyanide Code, TSM).
Manage national and global projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellence.
Deliver training, in‑field coaching, and impactful presentations.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, driving repeat business and long‑term partnerships.
Collaborate across ERM’s global network to share best practices and innovate solutions.
Compensation For the Managing Consultant, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Auditor (Casual) position, the anticipated hourly pay is $51.73 -$65.00 ( CAD ) . Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
