Serve as an Addiction Medicine Physician with Nova Scotia Health at the Recovery Support Centre in New Glasgow. This part-time role focuses on patient-centered care for opioid addiction.
The 0.2 FTE position allows for flexible scheduling, making it an ideal prospect for physicians who want to integrate this role with other clinical practices. You will provide comprehensive assessments and tailored opioid treatment plans with a strong emphasis on recovery-oriented care. Collaborating with a skilled interdisciplinary team will be essential in delivering high-quality addiction services within this community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide outpatient assessments for addiction medicine
• Administer Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) effectively
• Develop individualized treatment strategies for patients
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and community advocates
• Offer trauma-informed care promoting patient empowerment
Requirements:
• Current medical license with CPSNS or eligibility
• Eligibility for CFPC or Royal College certifications
• Certification in Addiction Medicine considered a plus
• Active CMPA membership required
• Dedication to collaborative health care practices
