The Service Advisor is the primary liaison between customers and the technical service team, responsible for translating customer concerns into accurate repair orders, recommending appropriate maintenance and repairs, and guiding customers through the service process from write-up to delivery. This role requires solid technical knowledge, sales ability, and communication skills to build trust, maximize service revenue, and ensure a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Consult with customers to understand vehicle concerns and service history, asking clarifying questions as needed.
Prepare detailed, accurate repair orders (ROs) that clearly capture customer concerns for technicians
Review multi-point inspection results and technician diagnoses to determine required repairs and maintenance.
Prepare accurate, itemized cost and time estimates for repairs and maintenance work.
Present recommended services,
maintenance schedules, and repair options to customers in clear, non-technical language.
Work closely with technicians and the shop foreman to prioritize work and manage repair timelines.
Coordinate with the Parts Department to confirm parts availability, pricing, and lead times.
Monitor progress on repair orders throughout the day and communicate delays or additional findings to customers promptly.
Review completed repair orders and invoices for accuracy before customer pick-up.
Explain work performed, parts replaced, and any outstanding recommendations to the customer at delivery.
