Position HSE Coordinator
Location Dease Lake, BC andSurrounding Areas
Status Full Time– Fly-in and Fly-out Two weeks On and Two weeks Off Rotation

SALARY Minimum $43.75 - $47.50per hour
The Chance and Position Summary: The Health,Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator’s primary function is to support allemployees, contractors, by upholding and having a strong commitment to zeroharm which encompasses efforts toward environmental stewardship and workplacesafety.
You, the Candidate: You are aqualified passionate, diligent and caring Health Safety professional who hasexperience in the mining industry sector and familiarity with the BC Mine Actworking alongside with Indigenous First Nations Communities. This position willbe key player in creating a safepreventative and proactive work environment and culture.
You in the Seat - HSECoordinator: Reporting to theon-site HSE Superintendent, you’ll work closely with project teams to drivesafety initiatives, conduct inspections, investigate and supportin the corrective measures and provide recommendations onall incidents, and ensure all actions are implemented inpartnership with the site management team.
Youwill support strong environmental and health safetypractices through daily consistent work performance withclear effective communications, planning,monitoring, with all site safety objectives in the field consistent withcompany guidelines, permits and regulatory requirements andreporting at the Eskay / Skeena Project.

What You Will Do and Core Responsibilities:
Liaisewith Project Manager daily to foster, promote, and develop a positive andproactive safety culture
Monitorand enforce adherence to company HSE Management System by all employees aswell as subcontractors
Providesuitable safety-related training as required
Maintaina high level of safety awareness and performance at all work locations
Investigateall incidents, hazard observations, and near misses
Liaisewith HR and Project Management with Injury and Claims Management; notablythe early Return-to-Work Program when required
Assistin the ongoing development and review of risk assessments (JHA) and safeworking practices
Supportall compliance processes as required by provincial, and local agencies,including, BC Mine Act and WorkSafe BC
Facilitateimplementation of the Eskay / Skeena Project Health, Safety and SecurityPlan
Updateand maintain all documents and registers and support management ofexternal contractors and consultants
Assistwith the development and implementation of policies, guidelines,procedures and internal controls
Facilitatethe provision of and maintenance of records in relation to all Project HSEtraining including toolbox talks, orientations, and weekly Safety Meetings
Completeall daily, weekly HSE documentation / record keeping requirements asdirected within the HSE Management system, including to maintain allprograms

Qualifications:
CHSCCertified Health & Safety Consultant
CRSTCanadian Registered Safety Technician
CSCconstruction Safety Coordinator
NCSONational Construction Safety Officer
CRSPCanadian Registered Safety
CSO(P), Construction Safety Officer
Posses an established safety certification or designation such as:
Minimum of 3 yearsexperience in mineral exploration, mining, heavy civil construction in theSafety profession.
Experiencewith design and implementation of health and safety programs and safesystems of work.
Monitorand enforce adherence to company HSE Management System by all employees aswell as subcontractors
Abilityto analyze incidents to understand and recommend corrective actions aswell as improvements to health and safety practices and procedures.
Strongattention to detail and proficiency with computers (MSapplications), particularly database management.
ValidOccupational First Aid (OFA) and WHMIS certificates.
Timemanagement, decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able totake direction, follow instructions, adapt to changing priorities andmulti-task
Strongwork ethic with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strongoral and written communication skills and able to use diagnostics.
