Part-Time: 20 hours per week

Regular hours are:

- Tuesday: 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Additional hours may occasionally be available based on operational needs.

About Us

More Than a Fad Thrift Store exists to raise funds and awareness for women in addiction recovery by offering quality, affordable items, promoting sustainable practices, operating with excellence in customer service and providing volunteer and work experience opportunities for the community. All profits generated by the store directly support Adeara.

Adeara is a long-term, residential recovery program for women. We help women in addiction create lasting change through our accredited, faith-based program. Our vision is to see women in addiction experience freedom through a life of recovery.

Overview The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the overall upkeep of the warehouse, including the acceptance, sorting and storage of donations. In collaboration with other staff, he/she will assist with the general cleanliness of the store. This position will provide support to store operations as needed. The Warehouse Associate will work in a team atmosphere in collaboration with other staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

- Interact with donors in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.
- Receive donations following donation acceptance standards, accepting donations that meet our guidelines and politely declining items we cannot accept.
- Sort donations by category and quality.
- Ensure donations are processed efficiently during high-volume periods.




- Assist with organizing storage areas and preparing merchandise for the sales floor.
- Routinely inspect storage areas to ensure items are in their proper locations.
- Monitor stock movement from warehouse to store floor.
- Monitor stock levels in C-Cans.

This position may be assigned other duties from time to time that support the key objectives of the position and reflect the operational requirements of the thrift store.

Minimum Requirements

- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada .
- Criminal Record Check.
- Safely lift, carry, and move donations up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

- Excellent process and time management skills
- Experience in sorting procedures in a warehouse environment would be an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and experience working with a diverse population are essential.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valuable judgment when assessing donations
- A strong work ethic and the ability to maintain a steady pace.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Patience and strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt, as priorities in the warehouse often change throughout the day.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, and individuals with varying abilities.

Pay: $17.30 per hour
