Warehouse Associate
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Warehouse Associate to join our team. This is a hands-on position responsible for receiving and put-away, order picking, dispatch, inventory control, and general warehouse maintenance.
Schedule: Full-time, weekdays with every other Saturday required.
Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Put-Away
- Unload and receive incoming shipments.
- Count and verify shipments against purchase orders (POs) or vendor packing slips.
- Sort incoming products and put them away in designated warehouse locations.
- Ensure new products are properly located in the system and barcoded.
- Complete return put-away and place returned products in designated areas.
- Report any shipment discrepancies or damaged products to the supervisor.
Order Picking
- Pick orders accurately according to invoices and ensure the products picked match the invoice.
- Scan all scannable products during the picking process.
- Ensure orders are picked on the same day the invoice is printed.
- Review and highlight special instructions or notes on invoices and communicate them clearly to drivers.
- Report missing or unlocatable items to the supervisor immediately so replacement products can be arranged.
Dispatch & Order Coordination
- Dispatch completed orders accurately using the Elite system.
- Provide invoices and required documents to drivers.
- Check for additional invoices, statements, credits, or other documents that can be sent with deliveries going in the same direction.
- Collect and properly handle cheque payments and other customer payments received from drivers or pickup customers.
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
Warehouse & Inventory Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse on a daily basis.
- Remove garbage, used skids/pallets, packaging materials, and other waste from work areas.
- Maintain warehouse tools and equipment and return them to their designated locations after use.
- Perform scheduled physical inventory counts and accurately report results.
- Maintain accurate product locations and barcodes.
- Follow all warehouse and workplace safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be physically capable of safely lifting and handling items weighing up to 80 lbs.
- Must be able to safely operate an electric stacker.
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence required.
- Previous warehouse, order picking, shipping/receiving, or distribution experience preferred.
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse/inventory systems.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be available to work every other Saturday.
What We’re Looking For The successful candidate will be someone who is dependable, physically capable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, handling heavy products, operating warehouse equipment, and taking responsibility for completing orders accurately and on time.
