Provide crucial student support as the School Counsellor in the Senior School at Queen Margaret’s School in Duncan, BC. This part time role emphasizes mental wellbeing alongside academic success.
As a Senior School Counsellor, you will lead initiatives fulfilling the emotional, social, and mental health needs of students in Grades 8–12. Collaborate with a diverse team to implement individual counselling, create IEPs, and navigate crisis response procedures. Your role is vital in creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer individual and small-group counselling services
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Conduct risk assessments for student safety
• Collaborate with families and faculty for comprehensive support
• Engage in policy development related to student wellbeing
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in counselling psychology or related field
• Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or equivalent
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate or Independent School certification
• Experience working in a school or clinical setting with adolescents
• Proven collaboration skills within interdisciplinary teams
