We are currently looking for a permanent Industrial Service Technician for a company specializing in industrial maintenance of lift equipment and overhead dock doors throughout the lower mainland.

Your responsibilities will include

Perform field service visits at client sites across Greater Vancouver — up to 7–8 visits per day for preventive maintenance and repairs on lifting equipment and/or dock doors

Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on equipment and carry out efficient, high-quality repairs to minimize client downtime

Prepare service orders, work orders, and client quotes with accuracy — administrative capability is a key part of this role

Complete 50% preventive maintenance and 50% repair work; major rebuilds are handled back at the in-house shop

Manage your own schedule, track overtime accurately, and maintain a high standard of time management across all client visits

Communicate professionally with clients at every visit — your interpersonal skills matter as much as your technical ones

Handle unexpected situations on-site with composure and find practical solutions quickly

Maintain the company truck in positive condition and manage your own tool inventory (personal tools required — $250/year tool allowance provided)

Requirements

Lifting Systems Technician: 4–5 years of experience in forklift or lifting system service — mechanical background with hydraulic and electrical knowledge; Red Seal or apprenticeship an asset but not required; licensed technicians can perform inspections

Dock Door Technician:

1–2 years of experience in overhead or dock door service — mechanical and electrical aptitude required; technical test administered during hiring (minimum 50% score required)

Strong customer service mindset — you handle difficult situations calmly and professionally

Excellent time management — you plan your day, track your hours, and keep your clients informed

Comfortable with administrative tasks: service orders, quoting, and work order completion

TIG or MIG welding experience — an asset for both roles
