About the Role

Bougie on a Budget is looking for reliable, hardworking, and energetic team members to join our wedding and events team!

This is a hands-on event position that combines wedding assistance, bartending, event setup and takedown.

Our team works behind the scenes to make sure weddings run smoothly, look beautiful, and are executed to the highest standard.

No two events are exactly the same, so we're looking for someone who is adaptable, professional, physically capable, and comfortable jumping in wherever they are needed.

What You'll Be Doing

Wedding Assistance

- Assist the lead coordinator and event team throughout the wedding day
- Help keep timelines and event spaces organized
- Assist with guest needs and general event duties
- Help with decor, tables, signage, personal items, and other wedding details
- Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and guests
- Help troubleshoot issues and keep the event moving smoothly

Bartending & Bar Support

- Provide professional bartending service at weddings and events
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar
- Follow responsible alcohol service practices
- Assist with bar setup and closing procedures
- Provide friendly and professional guest service

Setup & Takedown

- Set up tables, chairs, linens, decor, signage, bars, and other event items
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment
- Pack up and organize equipment at the end of events
- Move tables, chairs, boxes, decor, and other event materials
- Keep event spaces clean and organized throughout the day
- Work efficiently as part of a team,

What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's licence — REQUIRED
- 3+ years of bartending experience OR 5+ years of serving experience
- Previous wedding, event, hospitality, or customer service experience is an asset
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and long event days
- Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods
- Physically capable of lifting and moving event equipment
- Reliable transportation to and from event locations
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in rapid-paced environments
- Ability to take direction and jump in wherever needed
- Must be dependable and punctual

You understand that weddings can be fast-paced, unpredictable, and physically demanding. You're comfortable going from bartending, to moving chairs, to helping a coordinator, to packing up equipment — sometimes all in the same shift.
