Role Description The Weekend Dispatcher is a full-time (Friday - Monday), on-site role based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. This role is responsible for coordinating weekend transportation operations, including assigning loads, scheduling drivers, and updating dispatch systems to ensure timely and efficient delivery of freight. The dispatcher monitors routes and equipment, responds to service issues, and communicates clearly with drivers, customers, and internal teams throughout each shift.

Day-to-day tasks include tracking shipments, resolving delays or breakdowns,



maintaining accurate records, and adhering to safety and compliance requirements. The role also involves collaborating with other departments as needed to support continuous operations and provide consistent, reliable service to customers.

Qualifications

- Experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatching, with strong understanding of trucking operations and regional routes.
- Proficiency with dispatch or transportation management systems, as well as basic computer skills (e.g., email, spreadsheets, data entry).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with drivers, customers, and internal teams in a clear and professional manner.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, including prioritizing multiple tasks and managing shifting schedules under time pressure.
- Problem-solving skills and sound judgment to address service issues, route changes, and emergencies calmly and effectively.
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation, compliance with regulations, and adherence to company policies and safety standards.
- Availability to work weekends and flexible hours as required to support continuous operations.
- Previous experience in a trucking or freight environment and knowledge of cross-border or intermodal operations are considered assets.
