Job Profile
The Fabrication Shop Welding Inspector is responsible for ensuring welding and fabrication work meets applicable codes, project specifications, drawings, and DFI quality requirements. This role performs inspections throughout the fabrication process to verify weld quality, dimensional requirements, materials, and welding procedures are in accordance with established standards.

Job Duties
- Carry out visual inspection of the welded joint (Including dimensional aspect) as per W59
- Identify repairs from assessment of visual inspection
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detects of welds
- Knowledge of CSA W47.1 and W59 Standards (ASTM A252 and CSA G40.21 an asset)
- Responsible for reviewing IFC drawings, shop drawings, sketches, etc.
- Ensure the proper base metals and consumables are used as requested for the SOW
- Coordinate third party NDE (MPI, UT, X-Rays) inspections to conform to the Customer project specifications
- Create and maintain Welding Inspection Logs and Material Traceability Logs (as per procedures)
- Review Welding Procedure Specifications and Welding Procedure Data Sheets as applicable
- Develop methods and procedures related to quality assurance and quality control
- Any other duties required to support technical services
Qualifications
- CWB Level 1 Welding Inspector required (W47.1/W59 endorsements or ability to obtain)
- CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector an asset (W47.1/W59 endorsements, or ability to obtain)
- 1 – 3 years of experience in inspections
- Ability to communicate with all levels of profession
- Proven problem-solving skills, quick learner, and a team player
