The Lower Nicola Indian Band is looking for a passionate Nłeʔkepmx Language and Culture Teacher to deliver impactful lessons to students. Reporting to the Education Sector, you will design curriculum that intertwines language vitality with cultural identity, fostering deep connections to the Nłeʔkepmx community. Collaboration with elders, families, and local resources will be central to your teaching approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create engaging Nłeʔkepmx lessons and materials
• Manage culturally respectful learning experiences
• Embed First Peoples Principles in classroom practices
• Build community connections through language education
• Collaborate for student educational transitions
Requirements:
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate or equivalent
• Background in language education or revitalization
• Familiar with Indigenous educational methodologies
• Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities
• Passing Criminal Record Check required
