Shape your future with BC Ferries as a Welding Fabrication Specialist. This casual fixed-term opportunity involves diverse welding tasks crucial for our marine fleet and infrastructure maintenance.
In this role under the Trades Supervisor, you will plan, maintain, and execute welding operations while working collaboratively with multiple trades. Your focus on safety and quality will support crucial infrastructure the community relies on. As a lead hand, you’ll provide guidance to newer team members while managing the logistics of projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute welding tasks through exact documentation
• Manage materials and prepare for welding procedures
• Travel to various sites while handling hazardous materials
• Mentor apprentices and assist in performance assessments
• Ensure workspace safety and inventory management
Requirements:
• Must possess an ‘A’ Level Welding Certificate and 3 years of related experience
• Minimum 1 year of fabrication experience in a marine context
• CWB certification is appreciated
• Valid BC driver’s license for fleet requirements
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills
