Position

We are currently hiring an intern looking for a winter term position, January to April 2027. Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and plan to return to school after completing the internship to be eligible to apply.

This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program.

This position is responsible for supporting the Corporate Platforms - Finance, Data and Reporting team in Data System Analysis and Engineering tasks.

The student will assist in developing jobs that load data into other systems and work on reports which are used to understand our business and meet strategic objectives.



This position provides a great opportunity for a university student to gain practical experience in the fields of Data Engineering/Development.

The Business and Data Platform’s mandate includes the following themes:

- Creating reusable capabilities across IGM
- Defining strategy & technology/solution roadmaps
- Prioritizing features & solutions by strategic value

Responsibilities

- Designing and developing jobs that load datasets, reports and analysis for operational and strategic initiatives
- Leveraging AI to automate work and increase efficiencies in everything that you do
- Looking for ways to integrate AI within our established workflows
- Work with data from multiple sources and databases (manipulate data, prepare data for Reporting) and using AI to facilitate analysis.
- Analyze structured and unstructured data, organize findings and translate into actionable insights
- Learn various modelling approaches and understand how to evaluate best performance considering model metrics and appropriateness for business interpretation.
- Collaborate closely with relevant teams to ensure models/solutions can be deployed
- Participate in the analysis, development, testing, implementation, documentation and continuous improvement of datasets and data models as a member of the Business and Data Platform Portfolios

Requirements

- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Analytics, Statistics or a similar field
- A robust interest in learning about and using AI; experience with Google Gemini or MicroSoft Co-pilot is a plus

- Knowledge of SQL, Python, and Git
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to analyze, investigate and solve problems
- Ability to analyze and interpret data




- Capability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
- Positive attitude, keeping a constant watch on how to do things better
- Adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges
- Good critical thinking skills – conceptualizing, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating
- Willingness to learn how to develop code as part of a team, including clear documentation and code reviews
