Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Business Planning, and as a key member of the Business Planning section, you will provide professional support services to the divisions within Community Services Department:
Develop and present business cases, business/operational assessments, cost benefit analyses, and feasibility studies
Lead or assist in the management of long-term strategy projects, including developing RFPs, project charters and project plans, and lead public engagement
Negotiate partnerships with public, private, and not-for-profit (P3’s)
Develop innovative proposals for continuous improvement initiatives or new business ideas
Conduct market research and benchmarking
Undertake financial modelling and data analysis to support operational assessments
Provide consultation and advice to Commissioner, Directors and Divisional Management Teams as requested
Monitorbusiness plans for key performance measures, and provideguidance and support on multiple lines of business
Other duties as assigned or required
Skills and Qualifications
University degree in the areas of Business,
Commerce, Economics, Public Administration orequivalent
Post-graduate Master’s of Business Administration or Master’s in Public AdministrationPolicy preferred
Previous experience working in management/strategy/operational consulting is an asset
Minimum of 3 years' experience in the development and analysis of business plans/cases and strategic plans
Experience working in the government sector. Direct municipal experience is an asset
Demonstrated and proven abilities to lead consecutive, multi-stakeholder-driven projects, with above average project management skills
Demonstrated presentation skills
Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and leadership skills are required, as are excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to function in a team environment as well as work independently is a must
Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize complex and voluminous information into succinct written reports and presentations
Strong experience in conducting primary and secondary research, data collection/synthesis and financial analysis/modelling is a must
Excellent computer skills, with above average abilities in Excel and PowerPoint
Experience managing strategic or operational projects with demonstrated ability to deliver on-time quality results
Proven ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders and ability to multi-task are a must
Primarily office workplace. Prolonged exposure to computer keyboards and screens
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 100,277.00 - $ 133,703.00 The salary grade is under review
