Job Overview The Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Youth Curling Coordinator to lead and grow our youth curling program for the 2026–2027 season.
The successful applicant will create a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment while introducing young curlers to the sport and helping returning participants continue developing their skills.
Duties
- Plan and coordinate weekly youth curling programs.
- Develop seasonal lesson plans appropriate for beginner and intermediate curlers.
- Recruit, organize, and supervise volunteer instructors.
- Ensure all activities comply with Sport Manitoba and CurlManitoba Safe Sport policies.
- Maintain participant information.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
- Organize fun events, mini-bonspiels, and year-end activities.
- Promote youth programming to schools and the local community.
- Work with the Club Board to increase youth membership.
- Assist with registration and program evaluation.
- Prepare a brief year-end report including participation statistics and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and youth.
- Curling experience as a player, instructor, or coach.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with volunteers.
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude.
Required Before Employment The successful applicant must obtain or provide:
- Valid Respect in Sport – Activity Leader certification.
- Current Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC) or Criminal Record Check.
- Annual Screening Disclosure. · Agreement to follow the “Rule of Two”. https://coach.ca/sport-safety/responsible-coaching-movement/rule-two
- Agreement to comply with all Protected Sport policies.
Pay: $16.00-$22.00 per hour
